Kuala Lumpur, December 14 - The ExxonMobil Subsidiaries in Malaysia today unveiled its 2007 calendar, themed Transformation with Great Success: 50 years of Independence at its media festive open house held at a Kuala Lumpur hotel.
According to ExxonMobil Chairman Liam M. Mallon, the theme of the company's corporate calendar was selected to mark the country's 50th year of independence and support the Visit Malaysia Year 2007. The calendar depicts the key role played by the oil and gas industry over the years in transforming Malaysia's economy and in ensuring our quality of life. In providing vital energy for electricity generation, the oil and gas industry has helped transform modern offices, homes, industries and commerce. "In the past five decades, Malaysia has successfully transitioned from an agricultural-based country to a diversified and relatively prosperous nation. The oil and gas industry, which underpins the country's economy, has played a key role in this transformation. Without the energy industry, the world would, quite literally, be a poorer place, since energy and economic growth go hand in hand. We hope our calendar will help to create an appreciation for the important role of energy and increase energy literacy among Malaysians," he said. ExxonMobil is proud to have supported the growth of the nation by providing high quality petroleum and petrochemical products for Malaysians for over a century. These products such as transportation fuels, fuel oils, lubricants, asphalt, cooking gas and plastics have made our life safer, more comfortable and more convenient.
