I never thought that I’d win the Nissan X-Trail,” said Zailan Kamaruddin when he was given the keys to the brand new sports utility vehicle. “The Nissan is a real beauty and it’s all mine!” Vipin Agrawal, Cards Business Director, Citibank Berhad said, “We are very happy for Zailan. He seems very excited about his new car. The easy-to-enter format and attractive prizes like the Nissan X-Trail and the weekly RM500 worth of Smiles Points drew many participants to the contest.” He also said that Citibank was pleased to work with Esso and Mobil to deliver rewards and add value to customers. “We’ve consistently designed promotions that grow partner sales and are relevant to our card members to ensure that they obtain the rewards and privileges that come with using our credit cards. Esso Malaysia Berhad Retail Business Director Faridah Ali said, "This contest is our way of saying thank you to all our loyal customers for their support and we will continue to reward our customers through our on-going Smiles Driver Rewards program and promotions with other partners." She added that it was the first time that Esso and Mobil had worked together with Citibank on a project to mutually benefit their customers. "We are constantly on the lookout for such partnerships which can help us better serve our customers through high quality products and improved services at our service stations. As Esso and Mobil service stations accept credit card payment at the pump, customers can enjoy the convenience of using their credit card to pay for their purchases while earning great rewards." Opened to all Citibank principal and supplementary credit card members, the Citibank-Esso and Mobil Contest was conducted from September 4, 2006 to October 31, 2006 at 570 Esso and Mobil service stations nationwide.
