KUALA LUMPUR, August 19 – Esso Malaysia Berhad (Esso) and ExxonMobil Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Mobil), subsidiaries of ExxonMobil in Malaysia, today launched their RON95 unleaded fuel marketed as Synergy 5000.
The launch was officiated by Dato' Tan Lian Hoe, Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism. Synergy 5000 is the latest addition to Esso's and Mobil's Synergy Family of Fuels which comprise Synergy F-1 (unleaded RON 97 fuel) and Synergy Diesel. Synergy 5000 replaces Synergy Regular which is RON92 unleaded fuel. Priced at RM1.75 per liter, the new Synergy 5000 is available from mid-August at Esso and Mobil service stations in Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and Sabah. Synergy 5000 will be progressively rolled out to Esso and Mobil service stations in other states in line with the Government's move to introduce the new fuel nationwide by September 1, 2009. "Motorists will be pleased to know that they can enjoy high quality and engine protection from Synergy 5000 as it contains the same fully synthetic quality additives found in Synergy F-1. Both fuels have been designed with engine cleansing, corrosion protection and friction reducing additives to help improve fuel economy and engine performance. Our proprietary multi-functional additive with Friction Modifier combats friction, which helps improve engine performance and provides smoother acceleration. We call this the Positive Energy of Synergy," said Esso Malaysia Berhad Retail Business Director Faridah Ali. She said the Positive Energy of Synergy combined with the positive steps taken by motorists to check, maintain and service their vehicles regularly will make driving more cost-efficient and satisfying, whether they drive in easy or challenging conditions. "Fuelling your car with Synergy starts you off on a positive route. You can make positive changes to your drive by avoiding peak traffic times, car pooling and servicing your car regularly. We believe every little positive change goes a long way towards making driving less stressful and more enjoyable," added Faridah.
